How to Reconnect Your Ray-Ban Meta Glasses to iPhone (When Nothing Else Works)

If you own a pair of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and your iPhone suddenly can't find them — the Meta AI app just spins, Bluetooth shows nothing, or the connection drops and never comes back — I feel your pain. I'm Neil, and I run UseMyFrame, an optical lens installation shop in Rock Falls, IL. I wear my Ray-Ban Metas every single day (mine are labeled "Blayzer Optics 00W5" because we installed custom prescription lenses in them). So when they lost connection to my iPhone and nothing I tried worked, I was determined to figure it out.

After some trial and error, I found the fix. It takes about three minutes. Here's exactly what to do.

Step 1: Factory Reset the Glasses Through the Meta AI App

This is the key step that most troubleshooting guides skip. You need to do a factory reset on the glasses themselves from within the Meta AI app. Here's the path:

  1. Open the Meta AI app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu (≡) in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Glasses.

  1. On the glasses screen, tap the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right.

  1. You'll land on the Settings screen. Tap your glasses name (mine shows "Blayzer Optics 00W5").
  2. Tap General.
  3. Scroll down and tap Factory Reset. Confirm when prompted.

Wait for the glasses to finish resetting. The LED on the temple will flash white during the process — it takes about 30 seconds.

Step 2: Forget the Device in iPhone Bluetooth Settings

After the factory reset, you need to clear the old Bluetooth pairing from your iPhone. The glasses are essentially starting fresh, and your phone is still trying to connect to the old pairing record.

  1. Open your iPhone's Settings app.
  2. Tap Bluetooth.
  3. Find your Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the list (they may still appear even though they're disconnected).
  4. Tap the (i) icon next to the glasses name.
  5. Tap Forget This Device and confirm.

If you don't see the glasses in your Bluetooth list at all, that's fine — just skip ahead to Step 3.

Step 3: Reconnect in the Meta AI App

Head back to the Meta AI app. It should prompt you to pair new glasses — follow the on-screen instructions just like you did when you first set them up. The pairing takes under a minute, and you'll be back online with a clean, solid connection.

That's it. Three steps, about three minutes total. I know it feels counterintuitive to factory reset just to fix a dropped connection, but the standard Bluetooth toggle and app restart don't cut it when the pairing record gets truly corrupted. This is the only method that worked for me, and it's been reliable every time since.
