An eye refraction is a test used to measure your eye’s ability to focus light and determine if you need corrective lenses (such as glasses or contact lenses). This process helps identify any refractive errors, such as:
• Myopia (nearsightedness) – Difficulty seeing objects at a distance.
• Hyperopia (farsightedness) – Difficulty seeing objects up close.
• Astigmatism – Blurred vision caused by an irregularly shaped cornea.
• Presbyopia – Age-related difficulty focusing on close objects.
Unlike a comprehensive eye exam, which includes testing for eye diseases like glaucoma or macular degeneration, our refraction service focuses specifically on determining the precise prescription for your lenses. However, we’re leveraging the latest in telehealth technology to make the process seamless and highly accurate. After your refraction, your results can be reviewed by a licensed optometrist remotely, ensuring a quick and convenient experience without compromising on quality.
Our address is:
104 E 3rd Street
Rock Falls, IL 61071
This is a great option for those who need updated prescriptions but may not require a full medical eye exam at this time. If you need a comprehensive eye health evaluation, we’d be happy to recommend a trusted local provider as well.
NOTE: After your appointment is scheduled, we will email you the intake form to complete at home (save time), or you can complete in store.
