An eye refraction is a test used to measure your eye’s ability to focus light and determine if you need corrective lenses (such as glasses or contact lenses). This process helps identify any refractive errors, such as:

Myopia (nearsightedness) – Difficulty seeing objects at a distance.

Hyperopia (farsightedness) – Difficulty seeing objects up close.

Astigmatism – Blurred vision caused by an irregularly shaped cornea.

Presbyopia – Age-related difficulty focusing on close objects.

 

Unlike a comprehensive eye exam, which includes testing for eye diseases like glaucoma or macular degeneration, our refraction service focuses specifically on determining the precise prescription for your lenses. However, we’re leveraging the latest in telehealth technology to make the process seamless and highly accurate. After your refraction, your results will be reviewed by a licensed optometrist remotely, ensuring a quick and convenient experience without compromising on quality.

  • This is a telehealth eye refraction. We have the necessary machines at our physical location to perform a very accurate and thorough vision test. The results of each machine are securely stored in the cloud to be reviewed by an Illinois licensed Optometrist. You will speak with a remote technician during the subjunctive eye test via video conference.
  • Children must be at least 8 years old and accompanied by an adult.
  • You can reschedule your appointments as needed (no fee).
  • Distance and reading focal lengths are thoroughly tested with our Perfect Vision guarantee.
  • Should you need a reevaluation, it will be done completely free within 90 days. 
  • You will receive a paper copy of your prescription (signed by an Illinois licensed Optometrist) the following business day.

Still waiting to get a copy or even a call to talk to me about my exam. I also didn’t realize it was a tele visit .. the machine was not working well.. I miss that doc one and one in person and on the screen it felt to impossible to grasp that feeling of getting the correct exam.
I paid for a service and still have not received my prescription or a call.
As far as staff , she was very nice and helpful.
Although, if you’re looking for an exam compared to seeing an optometrist it’s not the same.

Never had an eye test remotely. Didn't know what to expect but was a typical eye test just done remotely.
