Pair of tri-focals came out great

I went to the eye doctor in January 2024, and I came out with a new prescription, so I ordered two pairs of replacement tri-focals from UseMyFrame (UMF) with special modifications and they came out great.

The first tri-focal replaced the tri-focals that UMF had replaced the lenses with my 2022 prescription. In using the tri-focals, I came to the conclusion that I wanted a larger middle segment on those glasses (I had other tri-focals with the larger segment size). In looking at other eyeglass vendors, I noticed that some of them offered tri-focals with a 8x35mm middle segment instead of the 7x24mm middle segment that is more common. I inquired whether UMF could do this. They were able to do the modification with an extra fee.

My second pair of tri-focals used the same prescription as the first set, and also had the larger intermediate segment. However, these glasses had replacement lenses made by another glasses replacement lens maker that made glasses with special migraine tints (FL-41, and now some other tints also). That maker had decided to not make tri-focals any more, so I reached out to UMF and they were able to make the glasses with FL-41 tint (for an extra cost).

Both glasses came and they work great. It took the post office a few days to deliver them, but that is sometimes normal.

If I could make a suggestion -- please indicate on the web site that you can do special requests like having tri-focals with a larger intermediate area, and that you can do glasses with migraine tints. In terms of the larger intermediate segment, I was looking at several other replacement glasses makers that did list the larger segment, and I was about to go with one of them for the first replacement tri-focals, when I decided to reach out to UMF who I had used previously, and I found they were willing to do the work.

If UMF doesn't mention in the web site that they can do special requests, I as a potential customer might skip over UMF and go on to the next vendor. I would prefer having the option as a drop-down menu, so I can price things out, and make the choice without having to contact the site. But even if you can't put it as a drop down menu, please at least mention to contact you for special orders.

The migraine FL-41 tinting is even more of a special request. I have photophobia that seems to increase the frequency of my migraines when I'm in direct sun or user florescent lights. For direct sun, I use polarization clip-ons or wear over glasses, but when I'm in buildings, I feel I need FL-41 when the building has florescent lights. I'm glad UMF can make lenses with FL-41 coating, because the one other vendor that I knew that offered FL-41 with tri-focals decided to not offer tri-focals any more (they now only offer bi-focals and progressives). Unfortunately, I have several times tried progressive lenses, and they give me migraines. I've also found too often that normal bi-focals for distance glasses are too limiting because I need that intermediate range (for example to read my car's dashboard when I'm driving, but still being able to read my cell phone when I'm stopped, i.e. distance for driving, intermediate for the car dash board, and close up for reading a cell phone).

Again like the segment size, if you mention it on the web site, I will know to contact you via these special requests. But if you don't mention it on the web site, I might skip over to another vendor.

A minor thing is you seem to offer sales every so often, and you usually start the sales offer on Friday, and the sales end on Sunday. However, if I need to contact somebody via special requests, they may not be in the office until Monday, and then I would miss the sale.

Knocked it out of the park again

Use my Frame is where I go to get all my eyeglasses tinted. I love the color of my latest frame and will be ordering more. They even took care to replace the original frame that I was sent that broke. Thanks so much!

fast and easy!

Great service. Super responsive and the whole process was easy. Got my Raybans done with prescription. It wouldve been more than double at a local optometrist. Pro tip, buy their prepaid label. I thought I could save money going to UPS myself but it ended up costing a few bucks more.
